The show consists of four pieces of unique ceramic lighting, each constructed with a personal secondhand fabric and accessories - a former curtain, jewelry, a wedding dress. Alongside the lighting, Corrigan has placed a selection of memorabilia including handwritten postcards dating between 1926-1985, artifacts with her late fathers handwriting, and objects that previously belonged to close connections who have since passed.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cspan\u003e\u003cem\u003eGhost Light\u003c\/em\u003e is a ceramic floor lamp inspired by one of Corrigans childhood memories while growing up in theater. Corrigans late father was a stagehand for a modern dance troupe, allowing her to spend most of her adolescence exploring the backstage of many theaters around the world. Corrigan was always fascinated by the “ghost light” that each theater would place in center stage and turn on each night once the theater was unoccupied. This superstitious ritual is done to ward away mischievous spirits, which Corrigan always found entrancing and special.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cspan\u003e\u003cspan\u003eAnaluisa Corrigan is a ceramic artist and designer. She is interested in spatial design with a focus in lighting and often explores themes of vanity, ornamental expression and femininity, creating forms that unite material exploration and personal expression. She is preoccupied with clays inherent qualities and characteristics, and the ways in which these can be negotiated — often through a generative process of trial and error. Corrigans pieces are deceptively labor intensive, taking up to a month to make. After sketching and prototyping, each is carefully built up through a coil technique, then dried and sanded to achieve the desired silhouette.
